Philippe Bouchard Macon Villages AOP 2016
For lovers of ripe, mineral-driven Chardonnay this white Burgundy from the Macon Villages region is for you. An exceptional Chardonnay from one of the most southerly and warmer Burgundy vineyard regions. Made by the Philippe Bouchard winery for Les Grands Chais de France, one of France's larger wine groups. comes this Villages Chardonnay from specific vineyards near the border with Beaujolais. This Chardonnay shows aromas of ripe stone fruits like peaches, apples and a lovely mineral core which extends through its long finish. Gentle oak has played a part helping to mellow this wine. This is a lovely food wine with its ripe flavours and acid backbone perfect with most foods outside of red meats.
Philippe Bouchard Red Burgundy Gamay 2016
From the Beaujolais region of France, this Gamay displays aromas of ripe black fruits, floral and spice notes with a round generosity on the palate. Exceptional value and a red for all occasions and for our warm climate it is a great wine to slightly chill as well
Corale Sicily IGT Syrah 2017
Bursting with spicy aromas of plum and blackcurrant, Corale Syrah is a balanced red wine, with a lingering palate. Pairs perfectly with grilled red meat and rich pasta dishes.
Maison Jaffelin Pinot Noir Rose 2017
Jaffelin and history is inseparable from that of the Collegiale Notre Dame de Beaune (the Notre Dame collegiate church in Beaune). Over the centuries, their cellars have housed the wines of the Collegiale and the Cardinals. The cellars changed ownership in 1816, when the Jaffelin brothers established themselves as negociants in the region. Today their wines rest in the monastic tranquility of the Chapitre cellars, just as they did eight centuries ago. Jaffelin entered a new chapter in its history in 2004, after completely renovating the vat room, and equipping it with modern winemaking equipment. They strive to bring out the Burgundy terroirs, cru by cru, wine by wine, at every stage of the winemaking process. A beautiful pink wine with a perfect balance of strawberry fruit and acidity that is crisp, yet not intrusive. It's perfect!
